Yesterday, I spent a fantastically fun morning with my best friend, Audrey, and her 4-year-old daughter, Tegan. We’ve been talking about doing this since Tegan was a baby, and we finally made it happen; we dressed her up in Mommy’s wedding gown and took pictures in my studio!
Trying to figure out how to put tiny Tegan in 5’4″ Audrey’s gown was a challenge. We finally decided to put the dress over a 36″ high stool, and then put Tegan inside the dress to sit on the stool. (I may go back later and use the Warp tool in Photoshop to get rid of the awkward angles where the sides of the dress were pushed out by the rectangular seat on the stool.)
Tegan is losing more and more of the “toddler” look every time I see her. (See Aunt Angie sniff and wipe away a tear…)
She’s got a hugemongous personality, can you tell?
And as Audrey has aptly nicknamed her, Tegan is very much Miss Sassy Pants. But with some coaxing to let us take more than just 5 photos, we wound up with some pretty good shots.
Someday, these shots will be in the slideshow at her wedding. I’m so blessed to be a part of creating a chronicle of her childhood. Thank you, Audrey & Chris, for trusting me with this!
And because comparing is fun, here’s a couple photos of Audrey on her wedding day, 15 years ago:
