Sometimes, my very favorite images come about almost by accident. At the very end of Veronica’s in-studio senior photo shoot, I decided to play around with a few frames zoomed super tight on her face. I put her on a white backdrop and adjusted my two studio lights so the main light was at 45-degrees to my right, and the fill light – though you can’t see it in the catchlights of her eyes – was to my left. I did some light retouching of this image in Photoshop (thank you, Totally Rad, for your ProRetouch 2.0!) but even though it’s a little smoothed and brightened, I think this image still captures Veronica’s natural beauty. There’s just something about this girl … and I’m privileged to be her stepmom.
