Chick Trek Faves

I’m still struggling with the idea that we’ve been gathering for nearly 15 years now. But it occurred to me as I listened to the conversation in the craft room, just how much things have changed since our first few Chick Treks. Back then, the talk was all about pregnancies and babies, breastfeeding and potty training. Now? They talked about moody teenagers learning to drive and starting to date as well as their own battles with grey hairs and hot flashes. But we still watch silly movies and talk about our new favorite sci-fi novels, trading author recommendations and above all else, doing a lot of laughing. I’m blessed to be a part of this tribe of women – because we are a tribe even if we only come together once a year.

My Favorite things about Chick Trek 2024:

1. Catching up with Audrey
2. Dinner out with the girls at Lucy’s on the Square (Bacon Jalapeno Mac & Cheese!)
3. This year’s “Cwafting” t-shirts
4. Browsing the aisles at “Oh Sugar!”
5. Indulging in way too many carbs
6. Scanning all the boxes of photo prints
7. Starting – and finishing – a couple scrapbook pages
8. Random conversations in the kitchen
9. The Inn’s Sonic Ice Machine
10. Spending more time in the studio than I spend down with a migraine
