Art & His “Brother” Santa Jim

December 1, 2020 by Angie

This template from The Nifty Pixel was just perfect for keeping the focus on one of my very favorite photos I've ever created!

Art & His “Brother” Santa Jim – a digital scrapbook layout by Angie Key.

Journaling

Dad decided this was the year to combine his work as Santa with his life-long love affair with woodcraft. He created a “throne” for Photos with Santa that not only fit his 6’3″ frame but addressed so much of what he’d learned in his work at the holidays. The back is straight and amply padded. The arms are wide enough for a teen or adult to comfortably sit, so a large family group can now easily pose. Hidden compartments inside both arms allow him to hide candy, treats, and props for use with nervous children. Best of all, the back comes off for easy transport and the while thing fits inside a minivan. We memorialized Dad’s creation by creating this photograph of Santa Jim with his alter ego “art” – his brother that runs the woodshop. That’s my daddy: both amazingly talented, and freaking adorable!
