Sweet Shoppe Designs – my very favorite digital scrapbooking shop & community – is taking applications for an open blogger spot on their creative team. I’m dreaming big – I would LOVE to be a part of their team! – so this is the sample post I’ve written for my application.
Did you know Thursday, September 16th is National Guacamole Day? Yep – apparently, it’s a thing!
Guacamole is a dip, spread, or salad made from mashed-up avocados and a variety of diced veggies, spices, and juice, depending on the preference of the chef (and those who will eat it). I love a chunky guac made with serrano chiles that’s heavy on the onion and lime juice. My dad, on the other hand, wants his creamy with nothing but salt and pepper. There’s a guacamole recipe to suit every taste, and even a way of eating guac to make everyone happy: dipped straight from the bowl with a tostada chip, scooped with a fork off a bed of lettuce, on top of a taco, off an enchilada, inside a burrito, or off a flauta.
Whether you have a love affair with avocados, want to chronicle your latest trip to Mexico, have a superb recipe for enchiladas or queso to record, or just want to add the latest pics from Taco Tuesday into your family’s album, these kits and templates will help you get the job done in style. Check them out!
While you’re at it, why not add a fun pun to your page? You can tell a loved one, “You guac my world,” “You are everything I avo wanted,” or “We go together like chips and guacamole.” For a party page – “Rock out with your guac out!” And a page about margaritas and munchies is just crying out for the title “It’s Guac-tail Hour”.
Be sure to share your oh-so-tasty finished pages in the Gallery. I can’t wait to see what you create!
